Privacy Policy for OwlyMath

Escaped Intelligence (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates OwlyMath, a math practice app designed for children. This policy explains what information OwlyMath does — and does not — collect.
The short version: OwlyMath does not collect any personal information. Your child’s names, scores, and progress are stored only on your device. The only online communication the app performs is with the app store you installed OwlyMath from — Google Play on Android, or the App Store on iOS — to support the optional one-time purchase described below.
Information We Collect
OwlyMath does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind, and it does not send your data to Escaped Intelligence — we have no servers and no access to anything in the app. The app’s only network communication is with the billing service of the store you installed it from: Google Play’s billing service on Android, or Apple’s App Store billing on iOS (see “Advertising and In-App Purchases” below).
The app does store some information locally on your device only, to make the app work:
- Player names you choose to enter (e.g., “Alex”), so multiple children can use the same device
- Progress, scores, streaks, and badges earned
- App preferences, like sound on/off and difficulty level
We do not have access to any of this information, and it is never transmitted to Escaped Intelligence. Uninstalling the app deletes it from your device.
One thing to be aware of: like most mobile apps, OwlyMath participates in your device’s standard backup system. If you have device backup enabled, your device may include the app’s saved data (player names and progress) in that backup — in your Google backup on Android, or in your iCloud or computer backup on iOS — and restore it if you reinstall the app. This is a device feature controlled by you in your device’s settings — not something OwlyMath sends anywhere itself — and it is covered by Google’s privacy policy or Apple’s privacy policy, depending on the platform you use.
Children’s Privacy
OwlyMath is designed for children, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not require any account, sign-in, email address, or other personal information to use the app. OwlyMath is intended to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar children’s privacy laws in other regions.
Advertising and In-App Purchases
OwlyMath contains no advertising.
The app offers a single, optional one-time purchase — OwlyMath Plus — which unlocks extra content (such as division practice and additional player profiles). The purchase flow is protected by a parental gate (a math challenge meant for adults) so a young child can’t buy it by accident.
Payment is handled entirely by the app store: Google Play on Android, or Apple’s App Store on iOS. OwlyMath itself never sees or stores your name, email address, or payment details; it only receives confirmation from the store that the purchase was made. Google’s and Apple’s handling of your payment information is described in Google’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy. To support this, the app communicates with the store’s billing service to look up the current price and to check whether Plus has already been purchased. This is the app’s only network communication.
Contacting Us
The app includes an optional “Contact Us” button, intended for parents and guardians. It is protected by a simple math challenge so that a young child can’t use it by accident. Tapping it opens your device’s own email app with our address (info@escapedintelligence.com) pre-filled — OwlyMath does not collect or see this message itself. Anything you choose to send us is handled according to your email provider’s own privacy practices, and by us according to standard business-correspondence practices: we use it only to respond to you and do not sell or share it.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change what OwlyMath collects (for example, if we add optional online features in the future), we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before that change ships.
